How long does a session usually last?
It all depends. An initial session can
last 1 ½ -3 hours depending on the issue being addressed, its cause or causes,
and the specific technique being used.
How many sessions are
required?
Many issues can be explored in a single
session but sometimes a follow-up session may be required. Smoking cessation
or weight management is conducted in a series of 3-4 sessions which—after the
initial session—are usually about an hour long.
Will I give up
control?
Absolutely not! During hypnosis, your
conscious mind is merely relaxed--it is never disconnected. You remain fully
in control and aware of everything that is happening throughout the session.
Although it’s always better that I bring you out of your relaxed state, you
can do it yourself at any time.
Can I be made to
do things under hypnosis that I don’t want to do?
Once again, absolutely not! Your
subconscious mind will only accept suggestions which are healthy, reasonable,
and appropriate.
What about those stage acts where people are made to do silly things
like remove articles of clothing or quack like a duck?
Remember that a stage hypnotist always
asks for volunteers. Therefore, they are willing, to a certain extent, to
perform certain acts on stage while under hypnosis. Even so, they would never
do anything which violated their personal code of conduct. For instance, most
participants would be unwilling to engage in a crime such as robbery or
assault under hypnosis even if they might be willing to quack like a duck.
What’s it like to be in a
hypnotic state?
Have you ever read a book or watched a
movie and lost all track of time? Have you ever driven somewhere and when you
arrive, you can’t remember making each specific turn along the route? Chances
are you were in a light hypnotic state during these times. Under hypnosis,
your conscious mind becomes relaxed and you are then able to focus your
attention on communicating with your subconscious mind. However, your
conscious mind is always present and available if you ever feel that you need
it. For instance, if you were deep in hypnosis and smelled smoke, you would
immediately react the same way as you normally would, i.e., you would stand up
and leave the building.
Most people find the mind/body relaxation
they experience to be a very pleasant experience.
Could I get stuck in
hypnosis?
No. While it's always better that I bring
you out of your relaxed state, you can always open your eyes and become fully
conscious on your own.
Will I involuntarily
reveal secrets or information that I consider too personal?
No. Once again, you are in control! Your
conscious mind, although relaxed, is always present. You never have to
disclose information that you consider too personal. You should always feel
comfortable telling me that you don't want to disclose certain information and
I will always respect your feelings.
Is hypnosis the same as
sleep?
No. Your conscious mind is always present
(although relaxed) during hypnosis. If you were asleep, your conscious mind
would be turned off and you would be unable to communicate me and I would be
unable to guide you. However, you are so relaxed that if left alone, you
would most likely drift off to sleep and wake up naturally.
Can anyone be
hypnotized?
Although some people are more easily
hypnotized than others, all it requires for most people is a willingness to
accept hypnosis and to relax the conscious mind.
Do you have to
be a certain age to be hypnotized?
There is no specific age. All it requires
is the maturity to allow your conscious mind to relax. School-aged children,
who experience the same issues of stress, anxiety, fear, and pain as adults
do, can benefit from hypnosis in the same way and to the same extent as
adults.
Is hypnosis dangerous?
No. Hypnosis is completely safe when
conducted by a qualified hypnotherapist.
Why hypnosis?
Hypnosis provides the ability to undergo
fast and dramatic changes in a safe, relaxed, and comfortable environment.
Under hypnosis, clients are able to identify causes of their issues which may
be deeply hidden in their subconscious and are otherwise very difficult to
access.
How will I feel after I
come out of hypnosis?
Apart from the calm or sometimes euphoric
feeling experienced by most people from successfully dealing with difficulties
that have plagued them for weeks, months and even years, clients often report
that all of their muscles feel so relaxed that it is almost as if they had a
full body massage!
What if I don’t want a past
life or a life between lives regression or don't believe in reincarnation?
The decision to have a past life or life
between lives regression is yours alone. Your session is personalized for you
based upon your particular beliefs and issues. You would only have a
regression if you requested it and felt completely comfortable with the
process.
Why would anyone want a
past life or life between lives regression?
It is believed, and I have witnessed, that
in many cases a person's physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual issue began
in a prior lifetime or lifetimes. Memories of all past lifetimes are stored in
the subconscious mind when you reincarnate into the present. By
having a past life regression, a person can re-experience a past life where
they often recognize the same mistakes they making in the present.
They may also choose to forgive others and themselves for harm suffered in a
past lifetime, which can lead to tremendous healing on all levels. Experiencing a past life can provide a unique perspective on life and its
lessons, helping people to become better centered mentally, emotionally, and
spiritually.
Do I need to believe
in reincarnation to experience a past life regression?
No. What your conscious mind believes and
what information is stored in your subconscious mind are not necessarily the
same thing. Many people have had wonderful past life regression experiences
even though they were raised in a particular religion which does not teach
reincarnation and even though they come from various ethnic, social,
geographical, and cultural backgrounds.
What is a life
between lives regression and how can it help me?
A life between lives regression involves
being regressed back to a past lifetime and then being moved forward in that
lifetime to the point right after your death. You do not re- experience
the death itself. You then experience your soul's movement into Spirt/Heaven.
You will have a chance to meet with your Spirit Guide/Guardian Angel and
review that most recent life, its purpose, and lessons. You might also
experience other aspects of Spirit/Heaven such as meeting with advanced souls
to learn more from your past lifetime as well as ask questions of more current
interest to you. You can also communicate with the souls of loved ones and
others you have known in this lifetime who have passed on.
Most people report feeling an overwhelming
sense of love while in Spirit/Heaven and are reluctant to leave that loving
environment at the end of the session. There are no judgments there--only
loving guidance.
While immersed in this loving environment, people are
able to release long held emotional and spiritual issues. They are able to
forgive others and themselves and feel a great sense of peace and calm. Many
times this release results in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual
healing that is felt right away.
